ChemiTek's products and their application - Brush on Tractor
In this article we will take a deeper look into the various applications of Chemitek products for the solar industry.
As the leading supplier of solar panel cleaning and maintenance solutions, we offer a range of products that meets various cleaning methods, such as manual brush, water-fed pole, rotative brush, robot, and brush on tractor.
Our products can also be applied using different methods, including sprayers, dosing pumps or mixed in the cleaning water. In this article, we will review each of our products and their application methods to help our customers make an informed choice.
Applications of ChemiTek’s solar products - Brush on Tractor
Solar Wash Protect 50
SWP is a concentrated, biodegradable, and innovative solution designed not only to clean a wide range of organic soiling from your solar panels, but also provides a protective antistatic coating that helps prevent future dirt and debris buildup.
Brush on tractor
Spray first:
- dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels with a sprayer
- turn off the water to the brush and brush the modules
- turn on the water to the brush and make a second a pass to rinse the soiling and excess product from the modules.
Mixed in the cleaning water: in severe soiling problems:
- Mix the SWP directly in the cleaning water and brush the modules. The dilution can be between 1:50 and 1:100 and it will be necessary to rinse the panels afterwards. We recommend the use of a dosing pump with bypass for real time mixing of the SWP with cleaning water. This way the water in the tank will remain without SWP and can be used to rinse the modules
- To rinse, open the bypass of the dosing pump and brush the modules with water to remove the remaining soiling and excess product.
SWP as a water additive: SWP will reduce the surface tension of the water, improving its penetration in the dirt thus making the cleaning more effective than just water. No rinsing is required but the antistatic coating left on the modules will be very limited.
- we recommend the use of a dosing pump for real time mixing (SWP with cleaning water) and a dilution of 1:500 (1kg of product for 500L of water)
- clean the modules as you would normally do with just water
- rinsing is not required.
Lichen Removal Agent
Lichen Removal Agent is a removal agent for lichen, moss and fungi designed specifically to be used on solar panels. It is a biodegradable product designed to be as delicate as possible with the components of the solar modules.
Brush on tractor
Spray with an agricultural sprayer:
- dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels making sure to soak the complete surface
- wait 10 to 20 min
- pass the brush with pure water to brush and rinse the modules
- If necessary, repeat the steps above
Spray using the brush:
- spray the diluted product on the panels while brushing making sure to soak the complete surface
- wait 10 to 20 min
- pass the brush with pure water to brush and rinse the modules
- If necessary, repeat the steps above
Cement Removal Agent
Cement Removal Agent is specifically designed to remove cement, stone dust, gypsum and other alkaline contaminants from solar panels without damaging the surface, while significantly reducing the time spent cleaning, the water consumed for cleaning and the costs required to clean the modules.
Brush on tractor
Spray using an agricultural sprayer:
- Dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels using the sprayer making sure to soak the complete surface.
- After a few seconds, use the brush to brush and rinse the modules with pure water.
Note: some manufacturers (e.g., Sunbrush) have spray bars that use the same attachment as the brush. This will allow the use of the same tractor to spray, with the spray bar, and brush and rinse with the brush.
Paint Removal Agent
Paint Removal Agent is a cleaning agent especially developed for the removal of interior paints, exterior coatings, multi-surface enamels, and water-based spray paints from the surface of solar module glass.

- dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels making sure to soak the complete surface
- wait 10 to 20 min
- pass the brush with pure water to brush and rinse the modules
- If necessary, repeat the steps above
Spray using the brush:
- spray the diluted product on the panels while brushing making sure to soak the complete surface
- wait 10 to 20 min
- pass the brush with pure water to brush and rinse the modules
- if necessary, repeat the steps above.
Water Softening Agent
The Water Softening Agent is a specially formulated solution that softens hard and very hard water and prevents mineral buildup, allowing your panels to operate at their maximum capacity. It has an action time of about 20 minutes.
Any cleaning method
- dilute the product, at the recommended dilution for your case, directly in the water tank or deposit. The longer the product is mixed, the better results will provide
- WSA is compatible with all other Chemitek products.
Antistatic Solar Armor
Antistatic Solar Armor is a specially designed antistatic coating for solar panels that provides a durable and effective barrier against these contaminants, enhancing their efficiency by up to 5%.
WFP, rotative brush, robot, or brush on tractor
- dilute the product directly in the cleaning water tank or mix it in real time with a dosing pump
- clean the modules as you would if using just water. The mechanical action of the bristles against the module will promote the adhesion of the coating while you are cleaning. After cleaning, you don’t need to rinse the modules.
Note: This product is not recommended to be applied with manual brush. To have the antistatic protection on the modules, using a manual brush, we recommend the Solar Wash Protect (SWP).
D-Solar Defendor
D-Solar Defendor (DSD) is a high-performance coating designed specifically for solar panels. It combines the hydrophobic properties with the antistatic properties, reducing dust adhesion to the modules, keeping your solar panels cleaner between cleanings.
WFP, rotative brush, robot or brush on tractor
- dilute the product directly in the cleaning water tank or mix it in real time with a dosing pump
- clean the modules as you would if using just water. The mechanical action of the bristles against the module will promote the adhesion of the coating while you are cleaning. After cleaning, you don’t need to rinse the modules.
Note: We don’t recommend that you apply this solution with manual brush.
Mirtek
Mirtek is an antistatic and antiadherent coating for CSP mirrors. This high-quality, advanced solution is designed to reduce the loss of reflectivity of CSP mirror by slowing down the soiling buildup.
Brush on tractor
- dilute the product directly in the cleaning water tank
- clean the mirrors as you normally would with just pure water. The mechanical action of the bristles against the module will promote the adhesion of the coating while you are cleaning. You don't need to rinse the mirrors afterwards.
Note: Jetwash can also be used to apply the product, but the performance and lifetime of the coating will be reduced.
