ChemiTek's products and their application - Manual Cleaning
In this article we will take a deeper look into the various applications of Chemitek products for the solar industry.
As the leading supplier of solar panel cleaning and maintenance solutions, we offer a range of products that meets various cleaning methods, such as manual brush, water-fed pole, rotative brush, robot, and brush on tractor.
Our products can also be applied using different methods, including sprayers, dosing pumps or mixed in the cleaning water. In this article, we will review each of our products and their application methods to help our customers make an informed choice.
Applications of ChemiTek’s solar products - Manual Cleaning
Solar Wash Protect 50
SWP is a concentrated, biodegradable, and innovative solution designed not only to clean a wide range of organic soiling from your solar panels, but also provides a protective antistatic coating that helps prevent future dirt and debris buildup.
Manual Brush
Spray, brush and rinse:
- dilute the product (1:50 ratio) and spray the solution on the panels with a manual or battery-operated sprayer (eg. Samourai)
- brush thoroughly without adding water
- rinse with pure water.
Dosing pump and WFP: Using a dosing pump with bypass (eg. Dosatron), will allow you to choose when to have the Solar Wash Protect solution or pure water.
- start with the bypass closed and distribute the SWP solution evenly on the modules
- close the water and brush thoroughly
- to rinse, open the bypass and the water and brush until completely rinsed.
Rotative brush
Water driven brush and a dosing pump: similarly, to the WFP method:
- with the bypass closed, brush the SWP solution evenly on the panels
- open the bypass to rinse with pure water
- brush until completely rinsed. In this specific case, since the quantity of SWP solution used will be higher than necessary, we recommend increasing the dilution to 1:100 or 1:150 (according to the soiling level and the quantity of water used).
Electric motor driven brush: it can be used in the same way as with a water driven brush, but it is also possible to spray first the SWP solution on the panels.
- spray the SWP solution on the modules
- brush without water
- to rinse, open the pure water and brush until completely rinsed.
Lichen Removal Agent
Lichen Removal Agent is a removal agent for lichen, moss and fungi designed specifically to be used on solar panels. It is a biodegradable product designed to be as delicate as possible with the components of the solar modules.
Manual brush, WFP or electric rotative brush
Spray, brush, and rinse:
- dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels with a manual or battery-operated sprayer making sure to soak the complete surface. On severe cases, brush the modules without adding water so the product can reach with the glass
- wait 10 to 20 min
- brush vigorously
- rinse thoroughly with pure water
- if necessary, repeat the steps above.
For water driven rotative brush
Spray, brush and rinse:
- spray the diluted product on the panels with a manual or battery-operated sprayer making sure to soak the complete surface.
- wait 10 to 20 min
- brush vigorously
- rinse thoroughly with pure water
- if necessary, repeat the steps above When using these brushes, brushing after spraying is not recommended because it will add water and remove the product from the modules.
Mixed in the cleaning water: in severe cases:
- mix the product directly into the cleaning water (directly in the water tank or using a dosing pump)
- brush the entire surface with the diluted product
- wait 10 to 20 min
- to rinse, change to the pure water hose, or open the bypass if using a dosing pump, and brush and rinse thoroughly
- if necessary, repeat the steps above.
Cement Removal Agent
Cement Removal Agent is specifically designed to remove cement, stone dust, gypsum and other alkaline contaminants from solar panels without damaging the surface, while significantly reducing the time spent cleaning, the water consumed for cleaning and the costs required to clean the modules.
Manual brush, WFP or rotative brush
Spray, brush and rinse:
- dilute the product and spray the solution on the panels using a manual or battery-operated sprayer making sure to soak the complete surface
- wait a few seconds and finally brush and rinse thoroughly with pure water.
Paint Removal Agent
Paint Removal Agent is a cleaning agent especially developed for the removal of interior paints, exterior coatings, multi-surface enamels, and water-based spray paints from the surface of solar module glass.
Manual brush, WFP or electric rotative brush
Spray, brush and rinse:
- dilute the product and spray it onto the panels using a manual or battery-operated sprayer, making sure to soak the complete surface
- on severe cases, brush the modules without adding water to make sure that the product can reach the glass
- let it soak for 10-20 minutes
- brush vigorously
- rinse thoroughly with pure water.
Note: a brush with harder bristles is recommended. On extreme cases, a walnut scrub pad might be necessary to completely remove the stains.
Water-Powered Rotary Brush
Spray, brush and rinse:
- dilute the product and spray it onto the panels using a manual or battery-operated sprayer, making sure to soak the complete surface.
- let it soak for 10-20 minutes
- brush vigorously
- rinse thoroughly with pure water.
Note: do not brush after spraying as it will dilute the product.
Mixed in Cleaning Water:
- mix the product directly into the cleaning water (directly in the water tank or using a dosing pump)
- brush the entire surface with the diluted product
- wait 10 to 20 min
- to rinse, change to the pure water hose, or open the bypass if using a dosing pump, and brush and rinse thoroughly
- if necessary, repeat the steps above.
Water Softening Agent
The Water Softening Agent is a specially formulated solution that softens hard and very hard water and prevents mineral buildup, allowing your panels to operate at their maximum capacity. It has an action time of about 20 minutes.
Any cleaning method
- dilute the product, at the recommended dilution for your case, directly in the water tank or deposit. The longer the product is mixed, the better results will provide
- The WSA is compatible with all other Chemitek products.
Antistatic Solar Armor
Antistatic Solar Armor is a specially designed antistatic coating for solar panels that provides a durable and effective barrier against these contaminants, enhancing their efficiency by up to 5%.
WFP, rotative brush, robot, or brush on tractor
- Dilute the product directly in the cleaning water tank or mix it in real time with a dosing pump
- Clean the modules as you would if using just water. The mechanical action of the bristles against the module will promote the adhesion of the coating while you are cleaning. After cleaning, you don’t need to rinse the modules.
Note: This product is not recommended to be applied with manual brush. To have the antistatic protection on the modules, using a manual brush, we recommend the Solar Wash Protect (SWP).
D-Solar Defendor
D-Solar Defendor (DSD) is a high-performance coating designed specifically for solar panels. It combines the hydrophobic properties with the antistatic properties, reducing dust adhesion to the modules, keeping your solar panels cleaner between cleanings.
WFP, rotative brush, robot or brush on tractor
- Dilute the product directly in the cleaning water tank or mix it in real time with a dosing pump
- Clean the modules as you would if using just water. The mechanical action of the bristles against the module will promote the adhesion of the coating while you are cleaning. After cleaning, you don’t need to rinse the modules.
Note: We don’t recommend that you apply this solution with manual brush.
